We didn’t come to Guadalajara to visit. We came to live.
After Christmas in California and a quick stop in Las Vegas for CES, we found a cheap flight and followed a friend’s advice. That’s how our Mexico journey started.
And it led us here.
For 8 weeks, we built a routine, explored neighborhoods, tried (a lot of) tacos, and experienced daily life in one of Latin America’s most underrated cities.
Especially in Colonia Americana, recently named one of the coolest and most livable neighborhoods in the world by Time Out.
Guadalajara surprised us.
It’s creative, walkable, very gay-friendly, and easy to live in… but also complex, with moments that remind you this is real life, not just travel.

For our last stop in China (this time), we head to Shenzhen… a city that genuinely feels like it’s living in the future.
Just a few decades ago, this was a small fishing village. Today, it’s one of the world’s fastest-growing tech hubs, often compared to Silicon Valley. And after spending a few days here, we can kind of see why.
In this video, we put Shenzhen’s futuristic reputation to the test:
- Riding in a fully driverless taxi (no driver, no hands, nothing 👀)
- Ordering food by drone… and completely messing it up
- Exploring the world-famous electronics markets to fix Fabio’s broken phone
- Visiting COCO Park, where automation is taking over everyday life
But beyond the cool tech, Shenzhen also made us question something…
When everything becomes faster, easier, and more automated, what do we actually lose?
Less human interaction? Fewer random conversations? A different kind of travel experience altogether?

Our journey started in Nanning, China’s “Green City”, where parks, lakes, and subtropical nature blend with modern life. From Qingxiu Mountain and the Longxiang Pagoda to the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities, this first stop revealed a quieter and lesser-known side of the country.
Then came Guilin — a short stop before boarding one of China’s most iconic experiences: the Li River cruise.
Sailing through dramatic karst mountains felt surreal, and arriving in Yangshuo opened the door to slow countryside travel, scooter rides through rice fields, hidden villages like Jiuxian, and unforgettable evenings with friends.
This episode is not about big attractions, but about rhythm, landscapes, and learning to travel China slower.
