Taiwan was the first country in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage, and Taipei Pride is more than a parade: it’s a celebration, a political statement, and a reflection of how far LGBTQ+ visibility has come in the region.

In this video, we take you inside Taipei Pride, exploring the festival atmosphere, community stalls, and the incredible energy on the streets — before heading out to experience a bit of Taipei’s queer nightlife after dark.

Fabio and Ryan | The Fabryk – Our Story, Still Being Written

These were our final days biking around Taiwan, and they were a mix of exhaustion, bad weather, big climbs, and some of the most beautiful coastal scenery of the entire trip.

We rode from Yuli toward Hualien, tackling steep mountain roads, long tunnels, and powerful winds as we crossed from Taiwan’s interior back to the East Coast. Along the way, we followed the dramatic coastline, passed the Tropic of Cancer, and stopped in small towns like Fengbin and near Shitiping, where the weather forced us to slow down and adjust our plans.

Strong winds, rain, and rough sea conditions reminded us how unpredictable cycling in Taiwan can be, especially on the east coast. Flexibility became just as important as endurance during these final stretches. Despite the challenges, we pushed through our last kilometers and rolled into Hualien, marking the end of our long-distance bike journey around the island.

Over the course of less than three weeks, we biked ??? km around Taiwan, covering mountains, coastal roads, cities, and rural villages. It wasn’t easy, but it became one of the most rewarding travel experiences we’ve ever had.
