Honestly one of the coolest places we have been in Europe, Serbia and Belgrade is in the midst of a peaceful era, but that hasn't been the case for very long - even the people our age there vividly remember war and are terrified at the prospect of future war happening.

We spent a whole entire month trying all the traditional Serbian food in Belgrade.

In this video, Ryan will take you through a journey of our time in Belgrade, focusing on the food and drink angle.

Here are the restaurants and dishes we ate at each:
Prekoputa Proleća (popara, uštipci), Velika Skardalija Restaurant (karađorđeva šnicla), Kolubaru u Šoru (other fantastic Skardalija-style dining), Cevonik Vruć Burek (burek) and Leskovac U Malom 3 (pljeskavica), random restaurant in village where we cannot remember the name 🤣 (shopska salad, šnenokle, krempita)

A Foodie's Guide to Belgrade 🇷🇸: Traditional Serbian Food

When we got off the bus and walked up to the brutalist West Gate, Genex Tower, in Belgrade...we were the only people in sight. The concrete ground leading up to it was derelict and decaying with glass shattered everywhere. We thought it was completely abandoned, until we saw a person poke their head out the window on the 5th floor. 

It is crazy to think that Mihajlo Mitrović, the architect who designed this monstrosity, will forever hold the legacy of having put this sci-fi-esque building on this planet. 

Looking forward to seeing more of the Yugoslavia-era gems around Serbia and onward.
