Saturday is equal parts wholesome and chaotic: a daytime experience with Gay Hanoi Tours, followed by drinks at GC Bar and a late night at Savage Hanoi, one of the best electronic music clubs in Vietnam (Peach Night = elite).

Sunday is all about recovery.... whether that’s a slow social wind-down at P6 Sauna or nursing a hangover with Hanoi’s famous egg coffee.

We joined a tour with Gay Hanoi Tours and saw a side of the city we never would’ve found on our own. These tours are designed with LGBTQ+ travelers in mind, but honestly, everyone is welcome and the kindness of the guides alone makes it worth it.

Instead of just the highlights, they take you into the unexpected: quiet local neighborhoods, misty temples, river paths, banana fields (yes, really), and pockets of calm that feel a world away from the chaos.

They also run night tours, food tours, and trips to places like Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh. If it exists in Vietnam, chances are they’ve got a queer-friendly way to experience it.

Trying to sleep in Hanoi, Vietnam deserves its own full-time job. Between scooters revving all night, nonstop construction, karaoke battles, street vendors, and whatever spiritual showdown was happening outside our window at 3am… our REM cycle never stood a chance 😜

But honestly, respect to the night owls, early birds, vendors, drivers, cleaners, and everyone who keeps Hanoi alive 24/7. The city doesn’t sleep, and now we know why.

As for us? We’re pretending four hours of sleep is enough while ordering another dangerously strong Vietnamese coffee just to survive the day.
