Our experience: We spent New Year's Eve 2025 in Penang, Malaysia, and wished we'd crossed into Thailand earlier. Next time we happen to be in the area around NYE, we're going straight to Bangkok. Thailand is one of those places in Asia that hits differently for LGBTQ+ people.

5. Gay New Year's Eve in Brussels, Belgium 🇧🇪

MAIN PARTY: La Démence New Year Party at Fuse Club is one of Europe's sexiest, most diverse crowds with international DJs.

Our experience: We were in Brussels this year for Pride and loved it. It's very gay, Central European, and a great alternative if you want to avoid the chaos of bigger capitals. Plus, it's a bit like Paris but cheaper.

Why it's a hidden gem: Brussels is centrally located and easily accessible by train from across Europe. During the holidays, the Grand Place is illuminated with dazzling lights.

6. Gay New Year's Eve in London, UK 🇬🇧

MAIN PARTY: Adonis New Year's Day is London's cult queer party with techno, house, and feel-good beats.

Our experience: London for New Year's Eve can also be a bit overwhelming. There are too many options. Plus around Christmas there are many parties like Recon. We ended up leaving Adonis early because we were exhausted, but we did have a blast. Think of it a little like a marathon.

Why it's a classic: London boasts one of the most diverse LGBTQ+ nightlife scenes in Europe. The iconic midnight fireworks over the Thames are spectacular.

Our experience: As locals, we usually prefer to spend it with friends at a house party, but you know the party never ends in Berlin, so you can always find a second evening after-party to go to. We had a lot of fun in a small venue in Neukölln.
