Las Vegas: Our Gay Guide to Sin City
Your quick gay guide to Las Vegas Where to party, stay, and go out in Las Vegas for LGBTQ+ travelers, from the Strip to the famous Fruit Loop district.
Is there a gay scene in Las Vegas?
Yes. And it's actually incredible.
Between Ryan and I, we've visited Vegas about ten times now. Each trip, we dig deeper into the gay bars, clubs, and queer nightlife, and this city keeps surprising us.
Gay Las Vegas centers around the Fruit Loop, a cluster of gay bars and clubs near the Strip where you can literally walk between Piranha Nightclub, Gipsy, and Quadz in minutes. The energy is chaotic, sweaty, and unapologetically queer. We've stumbled out of Quadz at 6 AM a few times more than I care to admit.
Beyond the bars, there's RuPaul's Drag Race Live at the Flamingo (staying there feels like living inside a gay fever dream), massive LGBTQ+ pool parties in summer, and a surprisingly welcoming vibe across the whole Strip. People here don't care who you kiss at the blackjack table.
One thing most guides won't tell you: Gay saunas in Las Vegas exist, but they keep a low profile. The main spots are Entourage Spa and Adonis Lounge, both offering spa facilities with sauna and steam rooms. They're not as open or prominent as clubs, and tend to keep things discreet, but they're there if you're looking for that scene.
Vegas isn't trying to be Amsterdam or Berlin. It's neon, ridiculous, and loud. But if you want to dance until sunrise, see world-class drag, and feel completely yourself doing it… this desert does it right.
Where Is the Gay Neighborhood in Las Vegas?
The main gay nightlife district is called the Fruit Loop.
It’s just east of the Strip, near the airport, and super easy to reach by Uber or taxi. Several iconic gay bars and clubs are literally on the same crossroads, including Piranha Nightclub, Gipsy, and Quadz Video Bar, so you can bar-hop by walking a few minutes between each place.
If you stay nearby, you can party all night without worrying about long rides home, which honestly makes everything easier (and safer).

Is Las Vegas Good for Gay Travelers?
Short answer: yes, very.
Las Vegas is surprisingly LGBTQ+ welcoming. With Ryan coming from the liberal Northeast, he always finds it fascinating to stumble upon these Midwestern-Southern cities with such a big scene (like Austin, Texas).
You’ll see queer couples everywhere, drag shows almost every night, RuPaul’s Drag Race Live at the Flamingo, and big gay parties all week long. The city lives on entertainment and nightlife, so being different is kind of the norm here.
It feels less “small gay scene” and more “everyone just does their thing.” Relaxed, open, and very fun.
Las Vegas is great for:
- Party-focused weekends
- Big group trips
- Convention hookups
- Pool party energy
- Bachelor-style chaos
It’s less ideal for:
- Slow café culture
- Community-centered gay neighborhoods
- Intimate European-style queer spaces

Gay Bars & Clubs in Las Vegas: The Ultimate List
Here’s where queer energy lives in Vegas... from dive bar vibes to big dance floors and iconic shows. Most recently, we were in town during CES on weekdays, so we caught some, missed some, but this is the best list to start with for your trip.

The Best Gay Bars in Las Vegas (Fruit Loop)
Piranha Nightclub: Drag + Big Dance Floor
Address: 4633 Paradise Rd Typical Hours: 10:00 PM – late (often 5 or 6 AM)
Note: Hours and nights vary by event calendar.
About & Personal Note:
Piranha is Vegas’s flagship queer dance club. It’s open most nights but not guaranteed nightly, especially if there are major conventions/events (like CES). We didn’t get inside, as it was closed on our recent weekday visit, but you can see the scale walking by. It’s known for big production nights with DJs, drag hosts, and themed parties often in partnership with Gipsy (see below).
Vibe: Party energy, lights, crowded dancefloor feel (when open).
Music: EDM / House / Party mixes.
Crowd: 20s to 40s, international.
Best Night: Thursday through Saturday most weeks.
Notes: Some nights are big collaborations (e.g., RuPaul's drags hosting; athlete parties). There’s often a free shuttle from Flamingo, which is huge for convenience.
Check the official Instagram or events page for up-to-date nights before planning.

Gipsy Nightclub (Garden Entrance): Outdoor/Indoor Party Spot
Address: 4605 Paradise Rd Typical Hours: Thursday 10 PM–4 AM, Friday 7 PM–4 AM, Saturday 12–3 PM & 10 PM–4 AM, Sunday 7 PM–4 AM (Closed Monday–Wednesday)
About:
Gipsy looks like a tropical oasis... plants, garden-like vibe. It was closed on our visit, but this place often collaborates with Piranha for big theme nights and attracts DJs + queer crowds. Definitely worth checking the event calendar, as they hold the famous (or infamous) Drag Ultra Brunch on Saturdays.
- Vibe: Lush, clubby, high-energy.
- Music: EDM, House, Commercial.
Quadz Video Bar (Gay Friendly): Pool tables & eclectic music
Address: 4640 Paradise Rd Hours: 24/7 (literally open always, but busy late night to morning)
About & Personal Note:
We've been to Quadz Video Bar a few times, and it’s a vibe. A queer-friendly local bar with video spot screens, pool tables, slots, and weird/cool music that’s not the usual club pop replay. It’s a place to hang, grab beers, shoot pool, and stay out all night (because it seriously runs 24/7). It also has a twin bar in Palm Springs.
- Vibe: Chill, welcoming, dive bar energy with attitude.
- Music: Eclectic video bar variety... sometimes retro, sometimes unexpected.
- Crowd: Locals + night owls + conventions mix.
- Best Time: Late night to sunrise.

Other Notable Gay & Queer-Friendly Spots in Vegas (not in the Fruit Loop)

Fun Hog Ranch: Legendary Gay Dive & Leather Bar

- About: A true local institution with an iconic neon sign, strong pours, and no-attitude vibes. This gay dive/leather bar has a homey feel, awesome staff, and serious drinks. The space is the perfect size—big enough to move around and enjoy yourself, but cozy enough to feel intimate. Known for fair prices (including happy hour specials), decent drink pours, and energetic vibes. Popular bartenders keep the atmosphere welcoming. The crowd is mixed and friendly, though service can be hit-or-miss depending on the night and who's working. A solid spot to dance in your seat, sing karaoke, or just enjoy a late-night drink. Check their Instagram.
Other Notable Spots on the Strip & Beyond
- RuPaul’s Drag Race Live at Flamingo: The iconic resident show. A must-see. Get tickets here.
- Hamburger Mary’s: For drag brunch, dinner shows, and karaoke. 3500 S Las Vegas Blvd.
- Drai’s Nightclub & Beachclub: Not explicitly gay, but hosts major LGBTQ+ takeovers and is very gay-friendly.
- Get Booked: A cool, gay-owned shop in the Fruit Loop that you can stop by between clubs. We may have purchased a new jock-strap here. Check them out.
Essential Vegas Nightlife Tips
- Getting Around: Uber/Lyft is essential. The Fruit Loop is a 5-10 minute ride from the Strip.
- Dress Code: Casual for bars like Quadz; stylish/trendy for clubs like Piranha and Gipsy.
- Cover Charges: Expect covers ($10-$30) at major clubs, especially on weekends.
- Best Nights: Thursday to Sunday. Check specific club social media for weekly events.
Gay Saunas & Bathhouses in Las Vegas
Gay saunas in Las Vegas keep things low-key compared to cities like Berlin, but they exist, and they're clean, modern, and surprisingly big.
The two main spots are Adonis Lounge and Entourage Spa. We visited Adonis on a weekday in January, and while it was quiet (midweek in winter, not shocking), the space itself is massive, super clean, and well-maintained. Think: bright corridors, lots of video screens, a dry sauna, and plenty of private rooms. It felt modern and organized, almost like a converted office space turned into a cruising maze.
The vibe was chill. Not packed, but we still had a nice time exploring the layout and enjoying the sauna. Staff were friendly and professional.
Here's the breakdown of both:
Adonis Lounge (Where We Went)
Address: 2225 E Flamingo Rd building 2
Hours: Open 24 hours
Admission: Around $20–$30 depending on day/time. Locals Night Wednesdays = $10 off. Early arrival on Fridays before 8 PM also gets you half-price entry.
Instagram: @adonisclublv
What to Expect:
This is the newer, larger, and cleaner of the two. The space is huge, formerly an office building, with dozens of private rooms, video lounges (showing adult content on multiple screens), a dry sauna with LED lighting, a gym area, and cruising corridors. It's spotlessly clean, well-ventilated, and feels almost sci-fi modern compared to typical bathhouses.
We went midweek in January, and it was pretty quiet, but the facility itself impressed us. The sauna was relaxing, the layout easy to navigate, and the whole place just felt... well-maintained. Staff were welcoming and discreet.
What People Say:
- "Cleanest bathhouse I've been to since Boiler in Berlin."
- "Spacious, tons of rooms, great for exploring."
- "Wish it had a pool or jacuzzi, but otherwise solid."
- Some mention it can feel empty during off-peak times, but special events (like Friday Sin City Jacks nights) bring bigger crowds.
Our Take:
If you want a modern, clean, low-pressure environment, this is your spot. Just manage expectations on weekdays...it won't be packed, but it's still worth visiting.
Entourage Spa & Health Club
Address: 953 E Sahara Ave A19
Hours: Open 24 hours Admission: Around $35–$60 depending on room type and day
Instagram: @gayspavegas
What to Expect:
Entourage is the older, more established bathhouse in Vegas. It has a pool (though sometimes closed for repairs), jacuzzi, gym, sauna, steam room, and private rooms. The vibe is more traditional bathhouse... think dim lighting, cruising energy, and a neighborhood-regular feel.
Current Issues:
Recent reviews mention that some amenities (pool, jacuzzi, steam room) are frequently out of order, and the facility feels dated compared to Adonis. However, staff consistently get praise for being friendly and professional. Pricing can feel steep, especially if amenities are down.
What People Say:
- "Staff is amazing, very welcoming."
- "Facility feels run-down, pool/jacuzzi often closed."
- "Good for locals who know what to expect."
- Mixed feelings on value, especially compared to Adonis.
Our Take:
If Adonis didn't exist, Entourage would be fine. But given the choice, we'd go back to Adonis for the cleaner, more modern experience. That said, Entourage has loyal regulars and a community vibe some people prefer.
Which One Should You Visit?
Go to Adonis if:
- You want modern, clean facilities
- You prefer spacious layouts and newer spaces
- You're visiting midweek or want deals (Locals Night, early Friday entry)
Go to Entourage if:
- You want a traditional bathhouse vibe
- You're cool with older facilities and potential amenity closures
- You're a regular or know the scene
General Sauna Etiquette & Tips:
- Bring cash for tips and locker rental (some places charge extra for storage)
- Colored towels indicate preferences (ask staff if unclear)
- Respect = key. Consent and boundaries matter everywhere
- Hydrate. Vegas is dry, saunas are hot, don't be a dehydrated mess
- These places are discreet. Don't expect flashy signage or loud branding
If you've been to bathhouses in Berlin or even Taipei, Vegas saunas feel similar but less integrated into the broader gay scene. They're more low-key, tucked away, and require a bit more effort to find... but they're there, and they're clean.
Where to Stay in Las Vegas (Gay-Friendly Hotels)
Vegas is a hotel city.
You don’t just sleep here... you live in your hotel. Pools, shows, bars, restaurants, pre-drinks, after-parties, everything happens inside.
So choosing the right base makes your trip 10x better.
Here are the places we’d personally recommend, depending on your budget and vibe.
Mid-range: Fun, Central, Gay Energy (Our Pick!)
Flamingo Las Vegas 🦩
The Flamingo is where we stayed first, and it's gotta be the gayest hotel on the Strip 😂 It’s colorful, playful, pink, chaotic in a fun way... very “Vegas camp”.
Why we loved it:
- RuPaul’s Drag Race LIVE theater inside the hotel
- Werk Room shop with merch from the show
- super central Strip location
- iconic pink decor = amazing photo spots
- big pool area (great in summer... unfortunately was closed when we stayed in the winter)
- they stored our luggage for free after checkout
It’s not the newest or fanciest hotel, but that’s part of the charm. It feels fun and unpretentious.
Perfect if:
- it's your first time in Vegas
- you want walkability (and it is located right on the tram)
- queer-friendly energy
- good price for the Strip
Book early though. Prices jump fast during big events and like most hotels, they will apply annoying resort fees (this is the reality of most places in Las Vegas)
Luxury / Party Vibes: Splurge Option
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
If you want to treat yourself… this is the one. The Cosmopolitan has a strong LGBTQ+ following and feels modern, sexy, and stylish without being stuffy. Very “cocktail at sunset, pool party, club night” energy.
Why it’s amazing:
- super design-forward rooms (many with terraces overlooking the Bellagio fountains)
- younger, trendy crowd
- Marquee Dayclub + Nightclub for big parties
- tons of great restaurants and bars inside
- very openly gay-friendly atmosphere
- perfect for couples or a glam trip
This is the place if you want:
- pool parties
- pre-drinks downstairs
- nightlife without even leaving the hotel
- a bit of that luxury Vegas fantasy
Definitely more expensive… but for a special trip? Worth it.
Budget: Close to the Fruit Loop
Motel 6 Las Vegas: Strip
If you want simple, cheap, and practical… Motel 6 works. This is where we stayed after CES for one night to save money and be close to both the Fruit Loop and airport for our flight. It was better than expected for a motel, although it is in a kinda sketchy area.
Why it’s good:
- walking distance to the Fruit Loop (Piranha, Gipsy, Quadz, etc.)
- felt OK safe, with cameras around the property
- free parking
- perfect if you just need a place to sleep after partying
Keep in mind:
- very basic
- no luxury vibes
- zero “Vegas glam”
But if your plan is: party → shower → sleep → repeat… it does the job.

Quick tips on Where to Stay in Las Vegas
- Want to party every night? → stay near the Fruit Loop
- First time Vegas? → stay on the Strip
- Summer trip? → pick a hotel with a pool scene
- On a budget and don't mind being a bit far away from the Strip? → pick a hotel in downtown Las Vegas
- Big events (CES, Pride, festivals)? → book months ahead
Gay Events in Las Vegas
Vegas is a year-round party city, but certain events and seasonal happenings take the energy to another level. Here's when the queer scene peaks.
Major LGBTQ+ Events in Las Vegas
If you like planning trips around energy and crowds, these are the best moments:
- Las Vegas Pride (October): The city's largest LGBTQ+ celebration with parades, pool parties, and club takeovers across the Strip and Fruit Loop. Keep up to date with the latest pride events by checking out our pride calendar.
- Halloween: Massive party weekend across all gay clubs and bars. Costumes are mandatory.
- EDC Week (May): Although not LGBTQ+-specific, the Electronic Daisy Carnival brings a huge, accepting crowd and many gay club takeovers.
Vegas always has something happening. Check event calendars before booking... you might land there during a wild weekend without even trying.
Gay Pool Parties & Day Life in Las Vegas
Vegas is famous for its nightlife, but the party starts at noon. From March to October, hotel pools transform into full-blown day clubs, complete with DJs, cocktails, and vibrant, inclusive party scenes. While many aren't exclusively gay, the crowds are famously mixed and LGBTQ+-welcoming.
Temptation Sundays: Luxor Hotel
The city's legendary weekly LGBTQ+ pool party, running May through September. Expect a high-energy social scene with dance music, drag hosts, and a crowd ready to celebrate. It's a summer institution. Official Website.
Gay-Friendly Day Clubs
Major resorts like The Cosmopolitan (Marquee Day club), MGM Grand (Wet Republic), and Resorts World (Ayu Day club) are popular with queer crowds, especially on weekends.
During Las Vegas Pride in October, many hotels host special LGBTQ+ pool events, making the party scene even bigger.
We visited in January, so pools were closed, but spots like the Flamingo's iconic pool radiate that vibrant, sun-soaked energy perfect for a day of cocktails and music.
Lil' tip: If you're visiting in summer, pack your swimwear. In Vegas, the afternoon is for the pool.
Final Thoughts
Vegas isn’t just slot machines and bachelor parties.
It’s glitter, drag queens, desert sunsets, neon lights, and dancefloors that don’t sleep. We came curious and left tired, a little poorer, but very happy.
It already feels like a place we’ll come back to again (and again, and again).

WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY:
