Yangshuo sits in one of the most visually surreal landscapes on Earth. Karst peaks shoot straight up from flat rice paddies in every direction, the Li River threads through it all, and somehow a small town has built itself around it without entirely ruining it. If you're arriving via the Guilin to Yangshuo Li River cruise or planning a full 3-day Yangshuo itinerary, the hotel you pick shapes more of your experience than you'd expect.
We spent several days here in November with our friend Raffaella, exploring by scooter and wishing we'd stayed longer. The big thing we learned: your location in Yangshuo actually matters. Stay near West Street and you're central, walkable to restaurants and nightlife, easy scooter access. Stay out along the Yulong River or in Ten Mile Gallery and you get rice field silence and karst views from your window at 6am. Both are the right call. They're just different trips.
We've rounded up 10 picks across every price point, from riverside luxury to countryside villas under $50.

Best Hotels in Yangshuo
All ratings are from Trip.com guest reviews. Ordered roughly from highest to most affordable.
Yangshuo Sugar House
- Rating: 9.6 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $305/night
- Area: West Street riverside
- Amenities: Pool, private garden, river views, free Wi-Fi, non-smoking rooms
- Food: Breakfast available, surrounded by West Street restaurants and cafés
An old sugar mill, resurrected. Sugar House took a heritage site and turned it into a modern retro resort that somehow fits perfectly against a backdrop of misty karst hills and the Li River below. The architecture blends contemporary design with a '60s aesthetic that was largely lost during the Cultural Revolution, and the result is a property that looks like nowhere else in China.
Beyond the rooms, the programming here is genuinely worth your time: rock wall climbing, curated art and music experiences, and access to the legendary Impressions of Liu Sanjie water show performed on the Li River at night. It's the most complete luxury experience in Yangshuo, and Booking.com has it too if you prefer to book there.
Guilin Yangshuo Jora Hotel
- Rating: 9.8 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $260/night
- Area: Yangshuo town center
- Amenities: Terrace, mountain views, modern rooms, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk
- Food: Breakfast available, walking distance to West Street dining
The Jora Hotel keeps guests busy in ways you don't typically expect from a town-center hotel. Fruit picking, traditional Chinese painting classes, and resident rabbits and parrots make it a genuinely engaging stay, especially if you're traveling with kids.
The food is taken seriously: breakfast is à la carte and freshly made rather than a buffet line, Guilin rice noodles are done with local authenticity, and the afternoon tea is the kind that guests bring up unprompted.
For a boutique property with this level of food and activity programming, it's exceptional value compared to the Sugar House tier.
LS Hotel (Guilin Liangsu)
- Rating: 9.6 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $195/night
- Area: Yangshuo town center
- Amenities: Pool, mountain views, fitness center, free Wi-Fi, non-smoking rooms
- Food: Restaurant on-site, breakfast available
LS Hotel punches above its price point in ways that show up clearly in guest reviews. The hotel hands out complimentary gifts on arrival, offers free photography sessions during your stay, and runs shuttle services to nearby attractions including the Yulong River Bamboo Raft Night Tour. All communication and service requests go through WeChat, which makes the whole stay feel frictionless if you're already using the app. Popular with families, and well-positioned for both the Yangshuo town sights and the countryside around it.
Miracle Hotel (Yangshuo West Street Lijiang Branch)

- Price: From $108/night
- Area: West Street, central Yangshuo
- Amenities: Pool, garden, free Wi-Fi, scooter rental, 24-hour front desk
- Food: Breakfast available, short walk to West Street restaurants
Opened in 2023, the Miracle Hotel has built a strong reputation fast. Guests across nearly 1,800 reviews consistently flag the cleanliness as a standout: rooms and common areas described as spotless, housekeeping attentive to detail in a way that actually shows. Breakfast covers local noodles and congee alongside the usual options, and multiple reviewers single it out as one of the better hotel breakfasts in Yangshuo. Yangshuo West Street, the TV Tower, and the Jiangshangyun Hanfu Experience Hall are all a short walk away.
MUYE Mountain Villa
- Rating: 9.7 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $102/night
- Area: Countryside, mountain setting
- Amenities: Private pool, mountain views, garden, free Wi-Fi, quiet surroundings
- Food: Breakfast available, on-site dining (remote setting, plan ahead)
MUYE is the kind of place that keeps kids genuinely occupied and adults genuinely relaxed, which is rare. Guests can go fruit picking, try their hand at traditional Chinese painting, and roam the grounds with resident rabbits and parrots. The food leans hard into local: à la carte breakfasts made fresh, Guilin rice noodles done properly, and an afternoon tea that guests seem to talk about more than any other amenity. If you came to Yangshuo wanting something beyond standard hotel routines, MUYE delivers that without making it feel forced.
Shixi Landscape Hotel
- Rating: 9.5 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $95/night
- Area: Shixi village, countryside
- Amenities: River views, terrace, garden, free Wi-Fi, peaceful rural setting
- Food: On-site restaurant, local dining nearby
Shixi Landscape Hotel has the service details right. Staff are consistently praised for being warm and proactive, rooms come with smart toilets and electric curtains, and the bedding is described with the kind of specificity (Wabi-sabi aesthetic, genuinely comfortable) that tells you guests noticed. On top of that, the hotel offers complimentary laundry and electric scooter rentals, so you can roll out into the karst countryside without any logistics headaches. Rooms are spacious and the overall vibe is quiet, calm, and well away from the West Street crowd.
Four Seasons Yunqi Resort (Yulong River)
- Rating: 9.6 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $87/night
- Area: Yulong River, Ten Mile Gallery
- Amenities: Pool, river views, garden, hot spring access, free Wi-Fi
- Food: Restaurant on-site, breakfast available
Sitting on the Li River banks right next to Guanlian Pier, Four Seasons Yunqi covers over 6,000 square meters and is designed to do most things at once: outdoor splash pool, a children's indoor daycare and amusement area, boutique conference rooms, light-luxury dining, and landscape rooms where every view is pointed deliberately at the surrounding hills and water. The breakfast buffet includes Guilin rice noodles and local specialties alongside the standard options. Whether it's a family trip or a couple's getaway, this resort is one of the more complete packages in the Yulong River corridor.
Dream Residence Hot Spring Resort
- Rating: 9.7 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $69/night
- Area: Ten Mile Gallery, Yulong River
- Amenities: Hot spring, pool, garden, karst mountain views, free Wi-Fi
- Food: Breakfast available, on-site dining
Located steps from both the Yulong River and Ten-Mile Gallery, Dream Residence is a strong pick if you're planning to cycle the Yulong road or spend a day at the nearby scenic spots. The complimentary photo shoot is a nice touch, and the family-friendly credentials are serious: a children's pool, a clean playground, and staff who apparently show up with kids' slippers and toiletries without being asked. After a full day in the hills, the hot spring is where your evening ends. Correctly.
GuYu · Mountain View Hotel
- Rating: 9.8 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $47/night
- Area: Countryside, mountain setting
- Amenities: Mountain views, garden, free Wi-Fi, quiet countryside location
- Food: Breakfast available, local restaurants nearby
Gu Yu Jian Shan (GuYu) is a pink castle-style homestay positioned right next to the Eternal Love scenic area and the Yulong River entrance, 5 minutes on foot from both. The rooms lean into natural wood and white tones, with gauzy curtains, cloud-soft bedding, and windows that open onto 100 acres of rice fields and karst peaks. There's a coffee shop with hand-brewed coffee and afternoon sun through the glass, a pool with clear water and poolside loungers, and a 24-hour gym. The butler service runs through WeChat and staff will arrange transport, book attraction tickets, and organize scooter rentals. For an independently-run homestay at this price, the design and service level genuinely rival properties that cost 3 times as much.
Yangshuo Puyuan VILLA Garden Panoramic Resort
- Rating: 9.5 / 10 (according to guest reviews on Trip.com)
- Price: From $44/night
- Area: Countryside resort
- Amenities: Swimming pool, panoramic views, stargazing, garden, free Wi-Fi
- Food: Breakfast available, on-site dining
Puyuan VILLA is pet-friendly in a way that actually means something: pets roam the grounds freely, staff greet them with treats, and guests specifically call this out as one of the main reasons they booked. For families, there's a spacious lawn, a well-maintained children's play area, and a pool clean enough that guests mention it by name. Breakfast is freshly prepared with Guilin rice noodles, home-grown vegetables, and fresh soy milk ground on-site. The setting is quiet countryside, close enough to Yangshuo town but with the kind of peace you don't get near West Street. If you're traveling with a dog or small kids, this is the most considered option on the list.
Whatever your budget, Yangshuo delivers. The karst landscape is the backdrop wherever you sleep.
